Creating a Great Hospital Experience

You’ve just been discharged from the hospital and someone asks, “How was your stay?”

If you’re like most people, your answer will depend on several different factors. Your nurses – were they responsive and knowledgeable? The room – was it clean? What about the taste and temperature of the food? Did the staff protect your privacy and dignity? How was your physician’s bedside manner?

At HCA’s Capital Division, we want every patient to have a great hospital experience. That’s why we work hard to create a safe and comfortable environment, and why we focus on providing superior care that leads to the best possible clinical outcome. In all of our hospitals, our quality improvement efforts include the following:

  • Identifying and using the best patient care practices from HCA’s 170-hospital network
  • Getting feedback from patients and physicians
  • Setting high standards for our core measure scores, which are quality indicators that all hospitals report to the federal government

And finally, as part of a hospital company founded by physicians, we involve them in every aspect of our operations, and we depend daily on their clinical expertise, leadership and commitment.

Having a great hospital experience is what matters to our patients. That’s why it also matters to us.  For more information about our quality initiatives and performance, please click on the links to the left.
